Artist Statement
My Neo-Retro style is a combination of sleek and contemporary design mixed with antique typography and layouts. I want to make bold designs to grab the customer’s attention, and draw the viewers in with a feeling of nostalgia and legibility. The two things that inspire my design style are traveling and positivity.
My life style has always been positive and optimistic. I take all opportunities given to me and turn them into something great; this is how I approach my designs and art. Traveling has always been regularity in my life exposing to me to many cultures around the world. The one thing that is common in all major cities is the use of graphic design. A bold logo and a punch line mixed with retro typography and bright repetitive colors is what flood the world today. This is what fuels my muse and motivation.
I work in graphics and silkscreen but my designs have readable type and bold symbols that are simple and humanistic. I hope to attract the specific demographic for my clients for their target customers. The evocative feelings I like to incorporate with my artworks reflect on how I approach and execute my designs. My hand printed and hand drawn designs explore a nostalgic feeling before everything was produced digitally. I hope to grab the attention of not only young adults but also intrigue the curiosity of older generation viewers.
Being spontaneous allows me to see art when others do not. Never holding back any of my ideas and creating multiple outcomes for one solution is how I get the best design. Good luck and zeal are inspiration for me because my personality is to always find the silver lining in all conditions. I like to learn from the ideas that failed and find the best solutions to create the best designs I possibly can.
